‘a groundbreaking literary project’
Here is the second instalment of our interview with reporter Rik Glauert and producer Alec MacDonald from Taiwan Plus News about our recently published book Tâigael: Stories from Taiwanese & Gaelic.
TaiwanPlus is an international media platform providing English-language news and entertainment from Taiwan. They are a publicly funded organisation based in a thriving democracy at the heart of Asia.
This episode is called ‘Once Suppressed, Taiwan’s Tâigí Language Gets Support from Afar’ and here’s what they have to say about Taiwanese Tâigí:
‘Its use was once banned in schools and punished in public, but Taiwanese Tâigí is now being embraced by a new generation of writers, artists and activists. The revival has reached as far as Scotland, where Scottish Gaelic writers are now collaborating with Tâigí speakers on a groundbreaking literary project.’
Huge thanks to Rik and Alec and the brilliant John Su and Luffy Li, who were all so lovely to work with.
