Nonfiction - Wind & Bones

The Stories that Make Us: Life-Writing, Memoir and Nonfiction

The last few years have seen a surge in interest in nonfiction written from first-person perspectives. This course will explore how to turn your own experiences and perspectives into writing others will want to read. We’ll look at the fundamentals of writing, we’ll explore questions of imagination, truth and ethics, and we’ll introduce participants to the flourishing market for selling and publishing your work.

In our fourth The Stories that Make Us course, offered in partnership with AFEAS — the Academic Foundation for English and American Studies at Sofia University — we will be exploring the art and the craft of creative nonfiction and life-writing.
